Profile
Ren's primary business focus has been on hazard evaluation and risk assessment, hazard studies (HAZOP, FMEA, Fire Safety, Construction Safety, QRA, Design and Operational Risk Assessment). He also has extensive experience in Safety Management Systems Design and delivering training courses.

Ren is the author of various papers on the application of fuzzy logic to risk assessment and other risk analysis concepts.

Experience
With over 40 years experience in the petro-chemical industry, Ren has been involved in a variety of different roles and projects during his career. Representative projects and roles include:

  		•  HSE Manager for site integration and general facilities, Nanhai Petrochemicals Project, China. This involved assisting the group with integrating safety in design and environmental compliance.
  		• Development of various hazard study procedures and subsequent database.
  		• Training development of Assessment of Safety Reports of Major Hazard Facilities for the Queensland Emergency Services CHEM Unit.
  		• Change Management and Business Continuity Plans.
  		• Various consulting tasks for the chemical and oil industries in technical safety using System Safety Approach, risk analysis including QRA, HazOp and hazard analysis.
  		• Compliance auditing.
