Profile
Michael is a qualified engineer with 15 years experience. He has worked predominantly in the field of risk engineering, either as a consultant or employed within the insurance industry. Having trained with Factory Mutual, he was for two years the Factory Mutual resident engineer for Western Australia, servicing a number of mining and mineral processing operations in Western Australia and Indonesia. His work with VRJ Risk Engineers and more recently International Risk Consultants has given him experience in safety case preparation, risk modelling and other safety and risk-related document preparation.
Experience
As a Director and Principla Risk Consultant, his work with Riskaware Pty Ltd aims to capitalise on previous experience to provide consulting services in safety and risk management. The intended client base is predominantly oil & gas and mining clients in Western Australia and elsewhere as opportunity permits, however his past experience takes in a wide range of industries for which the services are also relevant. Work to date has involved hazard identification and risk assessment for vessel refuelling offshore, manual handling risk identfication and development of a hazard register, preparation of drilling safety case documentation and facilitating associated hazard identification workshops. Recent experience has involved the development and delivery of risk management training workshops to workforces in PNG and Western Australia.
