Richard Robinson presented at the Australian Aviation Wildlife Hazard Group’s Annual Forum on 5th and 6th of November. His presentation was titled ‘Legal due diligence and wildlife hazard management – what is considered reasonable and practical?’

Gaye Francis and Richard Robinson presented at The Australasian Marine Pilots Institute’s 2015 Pilotage and Port Logistics Conference on 5th – 9th October. The title of their presentation was ‘Managing Risk’.
Institute of Fire Engineers Australia (IFE)
Richard presented at the 2015 Institute of Fire Engineers Australia Conference on the 8th – 9th October. He presented on fire engineering design implications of the Australian model WHS legislation.
Safety Institute of Australia Ltd
Gaye Francis presented at the Safety Institute of Australia’s National Safety Convention, Safety Differently, on 16th – 17th September. Gaye held two presentations – titled ‘The Role of Due Diligence Engineering’ and ‘SCG and Due Diligence Engineering’.

The Electrical Energy Society of Australia (EESA)
Gaye was a panellist at the EESA’s event on Electric Energy Security and the role of Nuclear Energy in Australia. This event was held in Melbourne in May, 2015. The event consisted of a panel made up of representatives from the industry, including Gaye, Martin Thomas AM, Tony Irwin, Colonel Neil Greet and Ben Heard, as well as an opening address by Senator Sean Edwards.
BICSI South Pacific Conference 2015
Richard Robinson presented at the BICSI South Pacific Conference ‘The Connected World’ in May 2015 in Sydney. Richard was among many other industry experts presenting on the current and future technologies that facilitate the rapid migration of the digital world where everything is ‘connected’.

Engineers Australia Convention 2014
Gaye Francis and Richard Robinson presented at the Engineers Australia Convention Mastering Complex Projects Conference on 24th November 2014 in Melbourne. The presentation was titled ‘Project Due Diligence’ and contained a case study on the procurement of the new E Class trams for Melbourne.
Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE)
Richard Robinson presented at the SFPE Conference on Performance-Based Codes and Fire Safety Design Methods on 10-12 November 2014. Richard’s presentation is titled ‘Implications for Fire Engineering Design of the Australian Model WHS Legislation’.
Engineers Australia 2014 NSW Regional Convention
Richard Robinson presented at the Engineers Australia 2014 NSW Regional Convention on the 17 – 19 October 2014. The convention topic was Sustainable Regional Engineering. Richard’s presentation is titled ‘Sustainable Risk Management and Due Diligence’.

Richard Robinson presented to the Senior Engineers Group In Melbourne on 17 July 2014. Richard’s presentation described the implications of the due diligence requirements under the provision of the model Work Health and Safety legislation for engineers and how engineers go about meeting this obligation.

Richard Robinson presented at the Engineers Australia Engineered Safety Group seminar on 7 May 2014. Richard’s presentation described his views on ALARP and SFAIRP and the perceived shift from using hazard-based assessments to demonstrating that engineering products are safe to using a precautionary approach.
